Tirupati city has been placed on high alert following a bomb threat reportedly linked to Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and former Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) militants based in Tamil Nadu. According to News18, the threat warns of potential detonation of RDX explosives at four locations across the city.
**Threat Assessment and Investigation**
Tirupati police have initiated a probe into two suspicious emails that contained the bomb threat. Bomb disposal squads were promptly deployed to assess any potential risks and to ensure public safety. The suspicious mails hinted at a conspiracy involving explosive devices targeting key public and religious sites in Tirupati.
**Enhanced Security at Major Temples**
In response to the threat, security measures have been significantly tightened at major temples in Tirupati. These include the Tiruchanur Padmavati Ammavari Temple, Tirumala Temple, and Srikalahasti Temple. Additionally, thorough security checks were conducted at prominent public locations such as the RTC bus stand, Srinivasam, Vishnu Niwasam, and Kapilatheertham.
Bomb disposal and police teams continue to patrol across Tirupati to mitigate any potential threats. As of now, no explosives have been found in connection with the bomb threat.
