England manager Thomas Tuchel has addressed the recent exclusions of Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, and Jack Grealish from the national squad. Despite their return from injuries and impressive form at their respective clubs, Real Madrid’s Bellingham, Manchester City’s Foden, and Everton’s Grealish were left out of the team.

### The Reason Behind the Omission

Tuchel emphasized that he has “no problem” with any of the players, explaining to BBC Sport that “special players can have special rules.” He revealed that Bellingham had expressed his desire to be included during a phone conversation.

“Jude always deserves to be here,” Tuchel said. “However, he has not yet regained his full rhythm at Real Madrid and hasn’t completed a full match recently. He wanted to be called up, and we had a phone call about it.”

### Appreciation for the Excluded Players

Tuchel took the opportunity to praise the excluded stars, affirming the high regard in which he holds them. He acknowledged Phil Foden’s strong performances for Manchester City and highlighted Grealish’s influence at Everton.

“Jack knows I see how influential he is for Everton and that he is on the way to becoming the best version of himself,” Tuchel noted. “Jude knows he is a special player, and he knows I recognize that. So they have to accept this decision, which was not made against them but for the good of the team.”

### Defending the Selection Decision

Tuchel described the choice to maintain largely the same squad following England’s commanding 5-0 victory over Serbia as an “easy choice.” He emphasized the importance of team spirit and acknowledged that while some players deserve to be included, squad size limitations prevent accommodating everyone.
