Two More Gang Members Arrested in Kochi Murder Probe

The suspects include Ryusei Tokushige, a 33-year-old senior member of the Yamaguchi-gumi crime syndicate, along with another man. According to investigators, they are accused of conspiring with Kohei Mitani, who was already arrested in June on suspicion of murder, to transport the body of a 23-year-old victim from Kyoto Prefecture to Kochi Prefecture.

The body is alleged to have been left in the area surrounding Okawa Village in Kochi. Police believe the two men arranged a vehicle to move the body and may have joined the crime through connections with Mitani.

On September 26th, human remains believed to be bones were discovered in a mountainous area of Kochi. Authorities are conducting forensic tests to confirm whether the remains belong to the victim.

Police continue to investigate the suspects’ roles in the killing and the subsequent cover-up as the case develops.
