The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a ₹21 crore prize money for the players and support staff following India’s triumphant victory at the Asia Cup 2025 held at the Dubai International Stadium.
In a post on X, the BCCI captioned, “3 blows. 0 response. Asia Cup Champions. Message delivered. 21 crores prize money for the team and support staff.”
### A Thrilling Chase
Team India faced early trouble in their chase of a modest 147, stumbling to 20/3 as key batsmen Suryakumar Yadav, Shubman Gill, and Abhishek Sharma were dismissed cheaply, giving Pakistan the upper hand.
However, Tilak Varma played a spectacular innings, anchoring the chase with vital half-century partnerships alongside Sanju Samson and Shivam Dube. Their efforts kept the Men in Blue firmly in the contest.
With just 2 runs needed off the final 3 balls, Rinku Singh calmly struck the winning runs, sealing India’s ninth Asia Cup title. Tilak Varma remained unbeaten on 69 and was deservedly named Player of the Match.
### Bowling Performance and Key Highlights
Earlier, after winning the toss, India captain Suryakumar Yadav chose to bowl first. Pakistan fielded an unchanged lineup, while India made three changes, bringing in Jasprit Bumrah, Rinku Singh, and Shivam Dube in place of Hardik Pandya, Harshit Rana, and Arshdeep Singh.
Pakistan’s opening duo, Sahibzada Farhan and Fakhar Zaman, put together a brisk 84-run partnership before Farhan was dismissed for 57 off 38 balls. At 113/1 in the 13th over, Pakistan’s innings collapsed spectacularly, losing nine wickets for just 33 runs.
Only Farhan, Fakhar Zaman, and Saim Ayub managed to reach double figures in the innings, which lasted slightly less than the full quota of deliveries.
Kuldeep Yadav was the standout bowler for India, delivering an impressive spell of 4 overs, conceding 30 runs, and taking 4 crucial wickets. Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Jasprit Bumrah supported well, taking two wickets each.
### A Hat-Trick of Wins Over Pakistan
This victory also marked India’s third consecutive win over their arch-rivals Pakistan in the Asia Cup, with Tilak Varma playing a key role in all three matches.
The triumph adds another prestigious title to India’s cricketing legacy and sets a strong tone heading into future competitions.
