**Youth Arrested in Indore for Abetting Girlfriend’s Suicide**
Indore (Madhya Pradesh): The police have arrested a young man for abetting his girlfriend’s suicide in the Bhanwarkuan police station area. The tragic incident took place on April 28, when the woman reportedly hanged herself after the accused allegedly reneged on his promise to marry her.
According to investigations, the accused had formed a relationship with the victim on the promise of marriage but later broke his commitment and got engaged to another woman. The deceased has been identified as Aarti Sharma, a bank employee residing in B J Vihar Colony.
Police seized Aarti’s mobile phone from the scene, which, after forensic analysis, revealed Instagram chats and call recordings. The evidence showed that Aarti had several arguments with her boyfriend, Prashant Tiwari of Haldwani (Uttarakhand). In one of the chats, Prashant reportedly told her, “I just used you.” The two also engaged in heated exchanges over phone calls.
Family members informed the police that Prashant had promised to marry Aarti but later refused and got engaged to another woman. On one occasion, when Aarti expressed her unhappiness, Prashant allegedly told her, “I don’t care, you can die now.” Distressed by his continuous harassment, Aarti took the fatal step.
Based on the collected evidence and witness statements, the police have registered a case against Prashant under relevant sections related to abetment of suicide and have arrested him.
