**Bullet Train’s Surat-Bilimora Phase to Open in 2027, Says Railway Minister Vaishnaw**

Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw recently conducted an inspection of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train project in Gujarat’s Surat district. Expressing his approval of the progress, Vaishnaw described the work as “really good,” highlighting the promising pace of development.
### Surat-Bilimora: First Operational Stretch by 2027
The first operational segment of the high-speed rail corridor will be between Surat and Bilimora. Vaishnaw confirmed that this phase is likely to be functional by 2027, marking a significant milestone in India’s bullet train journey.
### Unique Technologies Incorporated
During his visit, the minister emphasized the incorporation of “several unique technologies” into the project. These innovations are expected to set new benchmarks and could be leveraged in other large-scale infrastructure projects across the country.
### Station Features and Design
All bullet trains on the completed corridor will stop at Surat station. The station itself has been thoughtfully designed, featuring two tracks on each side with an additional two tracks at the center, accompanied by a spacious concourse to enhance passenger convenience.
Vaishnaw highlighted the station’s distinctive design, stating, “If you look at the station, there is a specialty there too,” underscoring the modern and efficient layout.
### Speed Specifications and Infrastructure
The bullet trains are slated to operate at speeds ranging from 320 to 340 km/h, promising to revolutionize transportation in India. Specially engineered high-speed rail turnouts have been designed to safely accommodate these speeds, ensuring smooth and rapid travel along the corridor.
Concluding his visit, Ashwini Vaishnaw reiterated, “The first section of Surat to Bilimora will become operational in 2027,” signaling an exciting development for the nation’s rail infrastructure.
