**Chain Snatching Incidents Continue to Haunt Jabalpur Residents**
Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): Residents of Jabalpur are increasingly troubled by a rise in chain snatching incidents across the city. In the latest reported case, the mother of BJP Mandal President Amit Rai fell victim to a chain snatching in the Adhartal area’s Jayprakash Nagar.
According to police reports, Amit Rai’s mother was taking her routine walk near a Durga temple when two unidentified men on a motorcycle approached her. Within seconds, they snatched the gold chain, weighing around 25 grams, from her neck and sped away before locals could react.
As soon as she realized what had happened, the woman raised an alarm. Nearby residents rushed to assist her, and Adhartal police arrived promptly after receiving the complaint. Authorities have confirmed that the incident was captured on CCTV cameras installed nearby. Efforts are currently underway to identify and apprehend the accused.

**Earlier Incident: Army Jawan’s Wife Targeted in April**
This is not an isolated case in Jabalpur. In April, two men on a motorcycle snatched the gold chain of an army jawan’s wife in a similar fashion. The incident was caught on CCTV cameras installed in the area, and the footage was widely circulated on social media.
In the video, the woman is seen walking alongside another woman when one of the suspects approaches on foot and suddenly snatches the mangalsutra from her neck before fleeing the scene.
Authorities continue to urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity to help curb these crimes.
