MANILA, Philippines — Alex Eala showcased her dominance as she defeated Japan’s Mei Yamaguchi in straight sets, 6-0, 6-3, to secure a spot in the quarterfinals of the Jingshan Tennis Open in China.
The 20-year-old Filipino took only 72 minutes to dispatch World No. 268 Yamaguchi, completely shutting out her opponent in the first set.
