Just minutes before *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is set to return to the airwaves, US President Donald Trump has issued an ominous threat.
The show is scheduled to return on the US network ABC after Jimmy Kimmel was pulled from screens following controversial comments about Charlie Kirk. Since then, the host has hardly been seen, as Disney-owned ABC announced the show’s indefinite suspension. This decision came after criticism from Brendan Carr, the Federal Communications Commission Chairman appointed by President Trump.
However, less than a week after the suspension, Disney revealed that *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* would be coming back.
Now, just prior to the show’s return, President Trump took to social media to deliver a severe warning to ABC regarding the reinstatement of *Jimmy Kimmel Live!*
“I can’t believe ABC Fake News gave Jimmy Kimmel his job back,” Mr. Trump wrote. “The White House was told by ABC that his show was cancelled! Something happened between then and now because his audience is GONE, and his talent was never there. Why would they want someone back who does so poorly, who’s not funny, and who puts the network in jeopardy by playing 99% positive Democrat GARBAGE. He is yet another arm of the DNC and, to the best of my knowledge, that would be a major Illegal Campaign Contribution. I think we’re going to test ABC out on this. Let’s see how we do. Last time I went after them, they gave me $16 million dollars. This one sounds even more lucrative. A true bunch of losers! Let Jimmy Kimmel rot in his bad ratings.”
*Jimmy Kimmel Live!* is scheduled to return to screens at 11:35 pm ET (1:35 pm AEST).
On social media, the *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* Instagram page shared a photo of Kimmel and show star Guillermo Rodriguez hugging, writing: “We are back full of love.”
Ahead of the return, around 20 percent of ABC stations, including affiliate and owned-and-operated stations, announced they would not be airing the reinstated *Jimmy Kimmel Live!* on Tuesday night (US time).
Celebrity guests are expected for the episode, including *Twister* star Glen Powell, who was spotted at Kimmel’s studio. Musician Sarah McLachlan is also scheduled to perform.
