**Emmanuel Macron Urges Donald Trump to End Gaza War for Nobel Peace Prize**
French President Emmanuel Macron has called on US President Donald Trump to take decisive action to end the war in Gaza, suggesting that doing so could earn Trump the Nobel Peace Prize. Speaking from New York on Tuesday, Macron emphasized the unique influence the United States holds in the conflict due to its military support.
“There is one person who can do something about it, and that is the US president,” Macron told France’s BFM TV. “The reason he can do more than us is because we do not supply weapons that allow the war in Gaza to be waged. The United States of America does.”
Earlier in the day, President Trump addressed the United Nations General Assembly, rejecting efforts by Western allies to recognize a Palestinian state. Trump argued that such recognition would be a reward for the Hamas militant group.
Reacting to Trump’s speech, Macron said, “I see an American president who is involved, who reiterated this morning from the podium: ‘I want peace.’ I have resolved seven conflicts and want the Nobel Peace Prize. The Nobel Peace Prize is only possible if you stop this conflict.”
Several countries, including Israel, Pakistan, and Cambodia, have nominated Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize, citing his role in brokering peace agreements and ceasefires. Trump himself has expressed that he deserves the accolade, which has been awarded to four previous White House presidents.
At the UN General Assembly meeting, Macron stressed that the conflict requires more than a military approach. “Nobody forgets the seventh of October,” he said. “But after almost two years of war, what is the result? Once again, they kill the top leaders of Hamas. It works. This is a great achievement, but at the same time, you have as many Hamas fighters as you had the first day. So it doesn’t work to dismantle Hamas.”
According to CNN, Macron called for the release of all hostages, an immediate ceasefire, the entry of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and stabilization of the enclave.
Referring to France’s recent recognition of a Palestinian state, Macron added, “We need a political perspective, and this is why we took this decision.”
Macron’s comments highlight the urgent need for a comprehensive political solution alongside humanitarian efforts to bring lasting peace to the region.
