**Google Introduces ‘Liquid Glass’ Design in Its First iOS App: Chrome Browser**

Google has rolled out a fresh update to its Chrome browser for iOS, featuring the all-new “Liquid Glass” design. This update coincides with the launch of iOS 26 and marks the first time Google has implemented the Liquid Glass aesthetic in one of its apps on Apple’s platform.
### What’s New in the Design?
The Liquid Glass design touches several key areas within the Chrome app, starting with the Tab Grid, Incognito mode, Tab, and Tab Group switcher interfaces. Google has revamped context menus to align with this modern style, delivering a sleeker look without the traditional blurred background effect.
Additionally, the bottom sheet now sports rounded corners instead of the previous edge-to-edge design. Menu items have been updated with a similar rounded curvature, providing a consistent and refined user experience throughout the app.
### Feature Enhancements
Alongside visual improvements, the update introduces practical feature upgrades. A new tab loading indicator replaces the old circular design with one inspired by the iOS pinwheel, aligning Chrome’s UI closer to native iOS elements.
Google has also enhanced the keyboard with an extra floating row of shortcuts. This new row includes quick access to voice search, Google Lens, “.com,” and slash (/) keys. Unlike before, this keyboard extension appears as a floating rectangle above the main keyboard, rather than being integrated directly into it, improving accessibility without taking up space.
### Looking Ahead: Liquid Glass in Other Google Apps?
While this Liquid Glass design is currently exclusive to Chrome, its rapid implementation suggests it complements the browser’s unique UI needs. It remains to be seen how—or if—Google plans to bring this design language to its other iOS applications.
For now, other Google apps might only receive related updates like recompiled versions with the latest SDK, including the new keyboard enhancements, without full Liquid Glass integration.
