A Few Personal Perceptions

The picture is a sunrise taken from an airplane over Sarasota, Florida. A new day, a new reality dawns. Do with it what you will.

People do have free will and the behavior so prevalent in the world shows that.  I think the behavior that people exhibit comes from the interactions with other people who have not matured, not broken free from their surroundings or still think that somehow it is natural to be self-centered.  In other words, addicted to the past and its myths and legends.  This is contradictory to free will, actually.  I would call it more "trained will".

People still think of our relationship with the Creator as an in or out, or a here and there concept. God is up ‘there’ somewhere and we are here and God is either in, or not in, our hearts and minds. That’s how geared we are to the separation teachings. When you think of God as an IS concept, in, out, within, without, is redundant. God, or divine life just IS. It IS as surely as the Universe exists in physical form.

The other dimensions are another topic. I too, am curious if we'll learn after death, the answers to the mysteries. Or if it simply won't matter anymore because we'll know there was no mystery after all. We created the mystery, too, as a control mechanism. All we had to do was live with love and respect for our  Earth home and its inhabitants. That's why extinction is inevitable if we continue to go against the Natural Laws.

Right now, I think human activity is giving the Creator one heck of a stomach ache, if you’ll forgive the metaphor. No telling how long it will take for the upchuck. It's the same as you and I ingesting the wrong thing. We know it might make us sick but we love it and think how good it can be and maybe this time it won't make us sick. So we keep trying it now and then. I'd imagine that all these multiple dimensions make up 'god's' pantry. Horrible metaphor . . . but it's not an easy thing to express within the limits of language. A night sky speaks it better.

Government, too, cannot NOT exist in and through you. We are not helpless victims of government unless we choose to be. If there is no separation, it simply isn't an either or. It's just an IS or ISN'T. Recently, Oprah Winfrey was severely chided for funding a school in Africa rather than keeping the money in the ghettos of Chicago . She responded that she made the decision because the children here weren't even interested in education. Things won't change until people change the way they think. Frankly, I don't know what kind of a cataclysmic event it will take to accomplish that. Katrina didn't help much. The tsunami didn't help much. The endless wars over religion and politics don't help much. The issues don’t help much to open any eyes past the time they're occupying the headlines.

I do know one thing. Laws don't work if they aren't enforced. Helping feed uneducated starving poor doesn't work if they keep having more uneducated starving poor babies. And, until the 'flocks' of the various political organizations start questioning the leaders and doing some critical thinking on their own, the government will be of no help no matter what other good they do or don't do. Yes, critical thinking . . . a lost art for the most part.

However, each can be taught to make the right decisions.  They choose to not listen at their own peril. All of our discussions are sophomoric unless we understand that we are in it all together. All humanity. This means a continued discussion of the root issues including but not limited to culture.

We need to do all that we can to get people to talk about the issues.  We also need to do all that we can to keep that speech as open and as clear as possible.  We need to avoid the spin of the pundits. Spin-off affects many things, all because well-intended people want to do the best they can without doing the work of thinking for themselves.  The only way we can limit the chaos is not to be a party in the pot stirring. People have a tendency to pick and choose what they want to hear, speak, or write. We need to rethink this. We need to listen to everything, and then choose to investigate. We need to speak and write only thoroughly investigated facts. And then, only then, employ critical thinking as to what is closest to the truth. The nation, the world, and ultimately, the Universe depends on it.
